Privacy Policy
TipJoy is designed so that your financial data stays yours. We can't see it, we don't want it, and we built the app that way on purpose.
1. What We Collect
TipJoy stores your tip logs, job details, and app preferences locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, that same data is also stored in your personal iCloud account via Apple CloudKit.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, or any personal identifiers through the app.
Apple may collect anonymous crash reports on our behalf through its standard iOS crash reporting. These reports contain no personally identifiable information and are used solely to fix bugs.
2. What We Don't Collect
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not track your behavior across apps or websites. We do not build user profiles. We have no ad network relationships.
3. How Your Data Is Stored
All earnings data is stored on-device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you choose to sync across devices, your data is transmitted and stored through Apple CloudKit, which encrypts data both in transit and at rest. We do not operate our own servers and do not have access to your iCloud data or the keys to decrypt it.
4. Third-Party Services
TipJoy uses two third-party services:
- Apple CloudKit for data sync across your devices. Your data is stored in your personal iCloud account under Apple's Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat for subscription management. RevenueCat processes your subscription status using an anonymous app user ID. It does not receive your name, email, tip data, or any other personal information. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone else.
5. Your Rights
You are in full control of your data at all times:
- View all your data directly in the app
- Export your data as a CSV file
- Delete individual entries or all data from within the app
- Disable iCloud sync in your device's iCloud settings
If you delete the app, your on-device data is removed. iCloud data can be managed through your iCloud account settings.
6. Children's Privacy
TipJoy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, please contact us and we will assist with deletion.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, we will post the revised version here and update the date below. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
